Sweet Birthday Wishes

Today I am sharing a card I made for my brother-in-law's girlfriend. I used the stamp "Candy" from Unity Stamp Company colored with Spectrum Noir Markers.

I used a lot of great papers and some ribbon from The Paper Temptress, and added a few pretty embellishments to finish it off. I love the gold vellum and this ribbon from The Paper Temptress. I also added a little Glossy Accents to the bubblegum machine.

Beach Babe Freebie Friday

It's time again for a new freebie Friday image from Scrapper's Delights.

This week we have Beach Babe for you. You get her free by joining the Progressive Challenge on the Facebook Fan Page.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. I used the Silhouette to cut around half of the image to make a shaped card. I added some fun papers from a paper pad I picked up on our vacation to the Outer Banks.

I put a few die-cuts of the word "smile" on the front as well.

I added some more papers on the inside and stamped a sentiment from Unity Stamp Company.  As a final touch I added some Clear Sparkle Pen and Glossy Accents.

Freezin' My Snowballs Off.... {Christmas in July}

Today I am sharing a card I made with the Scrapper's Delights image Christmas Honey 2 as well as the Igloo image.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added the Clear Sparkle Pen over the igloo and the snow. The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company.

This image is one of this week's Thrifty Thursday images so you can pick her up for just $1.00 right now and get a head start on your own Holiday cards.

Bugaboo Stamps Christmas in July {Friday}

Well, I did it. I completed all 7 of the Catch the Bug Christmas in July challenges.  The theme of this one was a color challenge using the palette below.

I made a smaller 3.5 x 5 card for this so I could make the image take up the whole front panel of the card. I chose the image AKV Santa Tree and colored it with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. I added some dots with the white gel pen to be either snow or stars, and added some Glossy Accents and sequins to finish it up.

Here's another look at all the projects I made this week.

Bugaboo Stamps Christmas in July { Wednesday}

Here is my entry for the Wednesday Catch the Bug Christmas in July challenge. THe theme this time was to make something funny with a recipe of layers, scallops and bling.
Stella's always good for a laugh, so I went with one of the Stella images from Bugaboo Stamps. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

Bugaboo Stamps Christmas in July {Thursday}

Yep, back with another Christmas in July post for Catch the Bug! This is for the Thursday photo challenge. Below is the inspiration photo.

This made me think about how I would love to be on the beach with a cocktail in my hand right about now. Instead I'm here, working and taking care of 4 sick kids, and a sick husband, all while being sick myself. Yeah, a cocktail on the beach sounds real good.

But I'll just have to settle for this for now I guess. The image is called Holiday Cheer Glass, and I colored it with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and Sparkle Pens. I covered the glass portion of the image with Glossy Accents to give it some shine and dimension.

Bugaboo Stamps Christmas in July {Tuesday}

Back again with another Catch the Bug Christmas in July card! I love this week long challenge at Bugaboo. While it's hard to get all the projects done, it's also really fun! And if I get all 7 done, that's a good start on my holiday cards for the year!

This is my entry for the Tuesday Bingo challenge with the New Release image Christmas Hedgie. Bingo challenges are always my favorite!

For my Bingo I chose to use the bottom row  of the Bingo card- Stripes, texture and snowflakes. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and the clear Sparkle pen. I also added Glossy Accents to the ornament and the candy cane. It's a little hard to see in the photo, but the ornament looks really shiny and shimmery in real life. I used 3D foam squares to add layers to the hedgehog, he really pops out from the card.

I finished it off with a few patterned papers, some dry embossing and a little Christmas Baker's twine.

Bugaboo Stamps Christmas in July {Monday}

Today I have another Christmas in July project! This one is for the Monday challenge at Catch the Bug. The theme was to make a Christmas tag. Here's mine.

I used the image called Chubby Santa - presents.  I couldn't find him in the store so I'm thinking he is a retired image. I love him though, one of my favorite Bugaboo Christmas images for sure! I colored him with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and Sparkle pens and embossed the sentiment (from Unity) with white embossing powder.

Beachy Thanks

Today I'm sharing a Thank You card I made for parents. They treated us to a trip to the Outer Banks last month. So, of course, I had to make a Thank You card- cuz it's what I do.

I had some fun with this newer image by From the Heart Stamps and my Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers and Sparkle Pens.

I love the watercolored look of these little images. The clear sparkle pen adds the perfect touch of shimmer. I stamped the sentiment and white embossed the thanks portion of it.

Bugaboo Stamps Christmas in July {Sunday}

I'm back for another Bugaboo Christmas in July card! This is for the Sunday challenge, which was to use this sketch:

I used the image Winter Circle Sentiments - Chimney. I colored it with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added some snowflakes with a white gel pen.

I used a scallop circle die to cut the image out and colored the edge of it with the Red Berry Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.

Bugaboo Stamps Christmas in July {Saturday}

It's Christmas in July week at Catch the Bug this week! I am a little behind on this, but am hoping to get all the projects done on time! This is the one week a year I work outside of my home, so finding time to craft has been tricky. I am determined though!

I used the image Christmas Trio Blocks and colored it with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and Clear Sparkle Pen. I also added a little bit of Glossy Accents to each block.

I embossed a snowflake pattern on the top and bottom portions of the card and left the center plain so the trio of images would really stand out. I also attached them with 3D foam squares to make them pop even more.

Spectrum Noir July Challenge

A new month means a new challenge at Spectrum Noir. This month the theme is Summer Loving.

I used the image Beach Mae by Some Odd Girl on my card. I couldn't find her in the Odd Girl shop, so I'm thinking she may be retired? Or I just missed her somehow.  I colored her with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added some Clear Sparkle Pen to her wrap.

The Hibiscus flowers were cut on the silhouette. I just cut them from white cardstock and then colored them with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens in Holly Leaf, Hearthstone, Macaroon and Biscuit.

Here is the color palette for this card {feel free to pin it if you love it!}

90th Birthday Celebrations!

Last weekend we celebrating some big birthdays. TWO 90th Birthdays!

These are the cards I made for the Birthday Boys. The image is Party Hat Birdbrain by From the Heart Stamps.

I colored both cards the same, with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. I added some fun papers as the balloons and I inked and embossed the blue card base to make it a little more interesting.  I inked around the edges of the colored image with Pear Tart & Bahama Blue Memento inks.

Below is a picture of most of my family with my Grandpa. We're missing my oldest and a few cousins who arrived a little later. It was so fun getting together with them. They live out of state (except for Grandpa, he's here) and we don't get the chance to be together that much.  I love that my kids get to have a Great-Grandpa  and he just adores my kids. It's so fun to see. OK, enough with the mushy stuff, lol.

An Ocean of Thanks

 Last week my girls went to Vacation Bible School at our new church. They had such a great time! I wanted to make some special thank you cards for their teachers.

The theme of VBS was "Ocean Commotion" so I used a few images from Kitty Bee Designs  on the cards.  I colored them with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers  and then fussy cut them. I also cut some pieces of coral/ seaweed with the Silhouette.

 I added some Clear Sparkle pen to the turtle's shell and a little Glossy Accents to the purple fish. I finished the cards off with some sequins and a die-cut sentiment. On the inside they say:

"An ocean of thanks for all your hard work. We had a fin-tastic time!"
