There are some FABULOUS Design Team projects for this release, trust me when I say you don't want to miss a single one!

I'm sharing with you my project made with the image called Steampunk Boot.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers TN9 TN7 TN6 TN5 TN3 BG8 BG6 BG5 and True Black.

I made the background by inking up an embossing folder with black ink and running a piece of white cardstock through it. After it was embossed I went over the raised portion with some copper ink. I finished it off with a few metal embellishments and black rhinestones.

Enjoy the rest of the hop! And make sure you check out the Scrapper's Delights Challenge blog for a special discount coupon. And if you comment on every blog along the hop you can enter to win 4 Scrapper's Delights images!

Scrapper's Delights Saturday Steampunk Blog Hop

Hey everyone! Welcome to the  Scrapper's Delights Steampunk Blog Hop!! You should have arrived here from the Scrapper's Delights Challenge Blog. If you're just joining the hop or just happened to stumble on it here, you'll want to hop back and start from the beginning.

There are some really amazing Design Team Projects and a great prize up for grabs if you comment on all the posts on the hop. All of those details are on the Scrapper's Delights blog, and I'm pretty sure I saw a nice little discount coupon for all the blog hoppers there too.

On my project I used the Pocket Watch image.

Along with the new image I used an older image called Victorian Digi 1.  I tried to make this one a little more Victorian and a little less Steampunk. I think it worked.

I colored the images with Spectrum Noir Markers. To get the lace on her hat and jacket, I paper pieced it in photoshop and then I printed the image on vellum. I cut out the jacket and hat area and then glued them over the colored image with Vellum Bond.

Steampunk Style With Scrapper's Delights {Freebie Friday}

There are some really, really great new releases coming to  Scrapper's Delights this weekend. They all have a Steampunk theme, and we have a little preview with the new Freebie Friday image!

I absolutely love Steampunk so I was so excited when I saw what Janice had drawn.  I was lucky enough to get a chance to create a few projects for the release this weekend.

***

The Freebie Friday image is the Steampunk Pocket Watch. I knew I wanted to make some Father's Day Cards with this one. I also knew I wanted to use this awesome Tim Holtz embossing folder. My first step was to emboss some white cardstock.

Then I got out my Perfect Pearls. I have had them since last Christmas, so over a year now, and never even opened them! This seemed like the perfect project to test them out on. I used two different color combinations to make two different cards.

Once I had these done I was able to pick out my marker colors. Once again I used the Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

For this one I used GG5 GG4 GB10 GB8 EB2 BG2 BG1

To make the gears I cut the shapes on the Silhouette Machine out of the same cardstock I used on the base of the card. Before I cut them I sprayed the paper with various colors of Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists and let it dry. I love how they turned out.

For this one I colored with: BG2 BG1 TN9 TN8 TN7 GG5 GG4

Be sure to stop by the Scrapper's Delights Store tomorrow to see all the new releases and there will also be 2 blog hops this weekend as well, and you won't want to miss those!

This Freebie Friday image is available as part of the Facebook Progressive challenge.

Thanks for visiting! I hope you'll stop back tomorrow and Sunday for the blog hops!

For the Love Birds

A friend of mine will soon be celebrating her 51st Wedding Anniversary! How wonderful is that?!

I made her and her hubby this card using the image Grand Couple by Some Odd Girl. The sentiment is from a Unity Stamp Company stamp set.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and Sparkle Pens.

I have a tutorial on the Spectrum Noir blog on how I made the blue/grey Granny hair. There is also a full listing of the colors I used in that post.

Thanks {For All the Candy!}

Today I am just sharing a card that I made for one of the ladies at the Nursing Home my daughter visits each week. Helen gives her a big handful of candy each time Maddy visits her. I just wanted to give her a little Thank You for being so sweet to my Maddy Cakes.

The stamp is from Unity Stamp Company. I stamped the image on Watercolor paper so I could color it with with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens in Silver and Smoked Quartz.

The background paper is old Stampin' Up stuff that I've had for years. I finished it off with some Baker's Twine and a few rhinestones.

Sticky Note Tutorial

Hello! And Happy Friday to YOU!

I have had a lot of requests for a tutorial on the little note holders I made for Teacher Appreciation Week, so I made one. I have a video and I will list the dimensions of everything after.

Please be kind, this is only my 3rd video tutorial and I was really tired so it's not the best, but it tells you what you need to know! And I'm still figuring things out, like the best camera position and lighting. Gotta get more lighting! Anyway, I hope you find it useful and I will update the video when I get all that stuff worked out. But I wanted to get the tutorial out there so you could start making your own note holders.

OK, here we go!

Here are the paper dimensions if you need them:

Base 10 1/2  x 4 1/4  scored at 5, 5 1/2, and 8
Holder Base 4 1/8 x 4 1/8 scored at 1/2 on all 4 sides

3x3 Patterned Paper for inside note holder
4 7/8 x 4 Patterned Paper for Easel Base
2- 4x 2 1/4 for Cover
2- 3 3/4x 2 for Cover
3 - 2 7/8 x 1/4 for Holder Sides

I decided to give these holders to two of the ladies at my husband's office who always by my handmade cards. Just a little Thank You for their support over the years.

You can see the Teacher Appreciation Note Holders in this post

*This tutorial was adapted from one I found on the This is Me Playing With Paper Blog.

Fruity Babies Watermelon image can be found in the Scrapper's Delights store.

Details on how I colored the Fruity Babies Watermelon image can be found in this post.

The base paper and the solid colored cardstock I used on these is from The Paper Temptress, the image was printed on Copic X-press, also available at The Paper Temptress

These were fun and easy to make and the teachers just loved them.

Scrapper's Delights New Release- Fruity Babies Cherries

Today there is a super sweet new release at Scrapper's Delights. Along with that Scrapper's Delights is sponsoring a coloring event at Kit and Clowder.

Here is the card I made with the new image, Fruity Babies Cherries:

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and I cut the cherries on the silhouette out of white cardstock. Then colored them with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens.

I decided to do the 3D decoupage technique on the image as well. Here are the pieces all colored before I assembled them.

And here is a close up of the little cutie all together on the card.

I love this technique, it really adds a lot of dimension to the card and in real life the image really pops, but but it doesn't add too much bulk to the card for mailing. It does take a long time though. Between coloring, cutting and assembling I spent about 5 hours on her. Totally worth it though!

Here is the color palette for this card:

I also used the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens in Holly Leaf, Red Berry, Rose Quartz and Clear.

Be sure to check out the coloring event in the Kit and Clowder Facebook Group, you'll find out how to get this image for just $1.00 and you can enter for your chance to win some really great prizes from Scrapper's Delights too!

Mixed Media Canvas With Scrapper's Delights {New Freebie Friday Image}

There's a new Freebie Friday image available from Scrapper's Delights, Hero Boy 1. You can get the image free by joining the Progressive Challenge on the Scrapper's Delights Facebook Page

As soon I saw the image we would be working with this week I knew I wanted to use the Comic Book Template and some of the Alien images with it.

I colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers- it took a few days. I took an 8x16 canvas and painted it with Acrylic Paints and stenciled some designs on it with Texture Paste and Clear Gloss Gel. I finished it off with some homemade enamel dots and wood veneer stars that I added some black glitter to.

I also used some Lindy's Stamp Gang and Heidi Swapp Mists on it.

Along with this image there are a few more new images in the store today.

So now head on over to the Scrapper's Delights Challenge Blog to see more great inspirations from the Design Team and don't forget to get the Free image from the Scrapper's Delights Facebook Page

Let's Eat Cake

Happy Hump Day everyone! Today is a special day at our house- it's Mommy and Maddy Day! A whole day for just me and my 5 year-old to hang out. It's so hard to get one on one time when you have 5 little ones, so we started doing these special days. Each Wednesday I have a different kid while my poor mom watches the others! The kids love it, of course. And I kinda do too. They all act a little different when they are the only one.

So before we get to our fun day I wanted to share a Birthday card I made for my friend Stacey. I used the image Thanks a Latte by Tiddly Inks, colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. I digitally paper pieced the tablecloth in Photoshop. I believe the sentiment I used is from a different Tiddly Inks image.

I had a lot of fun making a girly card. She has 3 boys, so I felt like she could use some pink and flowers in her life.

Bernadette Girl

Hello! I just have a quick share today. I made this a few weeks ago and never got around to posting it, so here it is!

I used Bernadette Girl from Unity Stamp Company. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir AquaBlend Pencils. I absolutely LOVE the effect I was able to get on the bricks with these pencils.  The image so big and awesome that I kept the rest of the card really simple, a few pretty papers and some Crispy Ribbon from Live and Love Crafts. I just love that ribbon, but it's one of those items I tend to hoard for some reason. It just seemed to work with this card though.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms, Mommas, Mommys, Mommys to Be, Hope to Be Moms and Furbaby Moms!  Of course, the Happiest Mother's Day to my Mom! And my Mother-in-Law. I seriously don't know what I would do without them.

I wanted to share the card I made for my mom this year and the gifts the kids and I made.

I used the stamp set called Everything Happens to be Wonderful by Unity Stamp Company. I made a mask so I could stamp the flower repeatedly around the edge.

I colored the flowers with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and used a white paint pen to add some details around the flowers.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of vellum and cut out some little banners. I hand stitched those onto the card.

Spectrum Noir Markers Used: LV3 PL4 PL3 PL2 CR8 PP5 PP4 PP2 TN6

For the gifts the kids and I searched Pinterest. We found these cute photo frames made from Washi Tape and popsicle sticks. Lily was a big help in picking out the Washi Tapes and Deacon helped with the photos. The other kids weren't that interestd in actually making the presents once we picked them out.

This is the one we made for my Mother-in-Law.

And we made this one for my mom. She took the girls to Disney last year so Lily was thrilled when she saw all the Mickey Mouse tape I had.

We put magnets on the backs so they could be hung on the fridge. I think they came out so cute! Now we need to get some more popsicle sticks so I can make one for myself. Or maybe I should have the hubby and the kids make it for me!

I stuck with Some Odd Girl Stamps for all the Teacher Appreciation cards and gifts this year. This little guy is  Bookbag Tobie. And of course, I colored him with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

Thank You Teacher {Teacher Appreciation Part 1}

Hello! It's Teacher Appreciation Week and I spent most of the weekend working on cards and gifts for my kids' teachers. Next year I definitely need to start earlier! But I managed to get some really great things made.

First up is the card I made for Mr. D, Zach's Science Teacher.  I used the image Mad Scientist Tobie by Some Odd Girl. That is actually a magnet that can be removed from the card.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and then adhered it some adhesive magnet paper which I had cut on the Silhouette. After that I coated it in Glossy Accents and let it dry overnight. I used some dimensional foam squares to attach it to the card, I think these should come off the magnet easily so he can use it.

Here is how the card looks without the magnet attached:

And a closer look at the magnet:
