Spectrum Noir Pastel Challenge

There's a new monthly challenge at Spectrum Noir. The theme for this month is "Pastels". I have a hard time with pastels, I usually go for bright colors so this was a bit of a challenge for me!

I colored the image, which is a freebie by Sylvia Zet of Wee Stamps, with Spectrum Noir Markers.

The ribbon on this card is from Stampin Up and the papers are from my stash. I finished it off with some dry embossing and pearls.

Here is the color palette for this project- feel free to pin it if you'd like!

I'm looking forward to seeing all your entries in the Pastel Challenge at Spectrum Noir.

Puddle Jumping {Tutorial}

Today I am sharing a tutorial on coloring puddles with Spectrum Noir Markers. You can see the full step-by-step tutorial on the Spectrum Noir Blog

Here's a look at the finished project I made for this tutorial.  She was so much fun to color.

The water colored background was actually one of the paintings my 4 year-old did. I liked it so much I asked her if I could use it in my project. Of course she said yes! She was thrilled that Mommy was using her work.

Below is the pin-able color palette.

Again, you can see the full tutorial on the Spectrum Noir Blog. And be sure to enter this month's Pastels challenge for your chance to win a great prize from Spectrum Noir.

You're Awesome {Letters For Landen}

Today I am sharing the new card I made to send to Landen. Landen is a little boy in my area who is about a year into his battle with Leukemia. He's doing very well right now and he just loves to get mail. I try to send him at least one card a month but have been slacking lately! Trying to get back on track though.

I've included his information above, if you have a spare card to send I know he would love it. It would really make his day.

On this card I used the image Mr. Unbeatable by A Random Fan.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Markers (colors below) and added some Stickles to his glove. The white circles are a Hambly Studios overlay. All of the papers I used on this card are from The Paper Temptress.  I finished the card off with some ribbbon across the top (to hide the glue!) and a cute little "you're awesome!" sticker.

Meet Roary

Today I want to introduce to Roary- a brand new image from Scrapper's Delights. Along with Roary there are a whole bunch of Jungle characters in the Scrapper's Delights store right now. They are all super cute!

I was lucky enough to be one of the first to color up Roary and these Jungle Palms. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils.

The papers are all just random bits from my stash and I printed the quick sentiment on my computer. I've had that Zebra print ribbon sitting in my drawer forever and was so happy to use it. It was perfect for this little Jungle Scene.

Spectrum Noir Blandable Pencils Used:

001, 005, 008, 031, 046, 050, 060, 061, 065, 073, 074, 075, 087, 089, 091, 096, 100, 104, 111, 113, 115, 119

Freebie Friday with Scrapper's Delights

This time the Freebie Friday image is the Lipstick Digi

I made the background paper with the lips in photoshop with the lip image that comes with the Lipstick. Then I used some papers from my stash and made a little shaker box to go on the card.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

You can use this image to enter the Freebie Friday challenge going on now at the Scrapper's Delights Fan Page on Facebook.

Along with this Freebie, there was a really big surprise release in the store yesterday. You have to check it out, the new images are just adorable! I want them ALL!

Be Happy

Today I have a really bright and warm friendship card to share with you.

I used the image Magical Friendship from Tiddly Inks. I colored it with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and Sparkle Pens.

I really love the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens, they add so much shimmer to my projects! And they aren't messy like glitter is. Sometimes it is fun to get covered in glitter though!

It's been a while since I've made a color palette for a project, trying to get back into that! But I did make one for this card, I really love the bright colors I used on this one! So here it is, feel free to pin it too.

Along with the markers listed above I also used the Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen and the Holly Leaf Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. The die cuts were made on the Silhouette, all the shapes are available in the Design Store. I added some loose glitter to some of them and used the Clear Sparkle Pen on other ones.

I had so much fun making this card and I really hope the friend I sent it to loves it as much as I do! Have a great week and thanks for visiting today.

I am so excited to share this card today! My cousin is expecting a new baby, so of course I had to make a card to celebrate!  Since we don't know the baby's gender yet I used a good mix of blue and pink. Fingers crossed for a baby boy though!

The image is called "New Love" by Saturated Canary. It's such a pretty image. And just an FYI, in case you haven't heard, Saturated Canary is closing in August If you have any SC images on your wish list you need to grab them soon! I had said I wasn't going to buy any new images this year, but I am going to have to make an exception in order to get some of the images on my wish list before they are no longer avaialable!

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Markers. I had so much fun with that two-toned hair. It was a real challenge though.

 The papers are from Paper Temptress. I just love that translucent vellum so much. I embossed that with an Alphabet embossing folder and stuck a piece of pink behind it just to break up the white a little bit.  I finished it off with some wood veneer letters, Stickles and homemade enamel dots.

It's Freebie Friday Time! {Scrapper's Delights}

Happy Friday. Freebie Friday.

This week the freebie image is this sweet little Fairy Day Dream. I had a lot of fun coloring her with Spectrum Noir Markers and Sparkle Pens.

I added some, OK, a lot, of glitter paper and then kept the base pretty simple. I just dry embossed a portion of the blue paper and then layered all the sparkly pieces on top of that.
