Happy Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

It's Halloween and my kids are so excited! They can't wait to go dress up and get candy. I'm not as excited as they are- not a big fan of Halloween myself. I do love seeing them all dressed up though.

Today I am sharing a card that I made for Landen. Landen loves Halloween! We sent him a few Halloween cards but this one is my favorites. I used the AKV Halloween Scene image from Bugaboo Stamps.

I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers and added lots of googly eyes to all the little characters. I also added some stickles and some papers and ribbon from my stash. And I made a matching envelope too.

Landen loved his card and that makes me so happy! I just love seeing a smile on his face.  You can read more about Letters for Landen here

Tooth Fairy Box

It's time for a new challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner. Our theme this week is Anything Goes and we have 2 wonderful sponsors, The East Wind and Stitchy Bear Outlet

For my project I made a little Tooth Fairy box with Spari Fairy from Stitchy Bear Outlet. We have another year or so before my daughter starts losing her baby teeth but when I saw this little fairy the first thing I though of was the Tooth Fairy.

I made a this little purse box, I think it will be cute for Maddy to leave out by her bed for the Tooth Fairy to leave her presents in (the Tooth Fairy in this house is not so good at sneaking under the pillows!). I colored her blue because that's Madison's favorite color.

She was colored with Spectrum Noir Markers and I added some silver Stickles to her wings to make them sparkle.

It's Tough Being A Princess

Hi everyone! It's time for a fun new challenge at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge blog. This time the theme is Once Upon A Dream. I used this sweet image called Rory- I need my beauty sleep. I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers and then decided I wanted to make into a Mixed Media piece for my daughter. She is our little princess (with an attitude) so this image kind of makes me think of her. And the sentiment is just right for her too. My little Sassy pants, lol.

I coated the image in Glossy Accents to make a little sturdier since this was going in my daughter's room, so I had a hard time getting a good photo. Sorry for the glare. I probably should have used my good camera rather than my phone, but all of us have been sick so I'm lucky I even got this much done this week!

I have so much fun with the Mixed Media stuff. I stayed up late one night and just got messy with this stuff while everyone was asleep. The perfect down time for me.  Here are some pictures I took as I was making the canvas piece:

Trick-or-Treat Door Hanger

I made this door hanger using the  Pumpkin Bitty image. I think he such a cutie!  I colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers and all of the bits and pieces were cut on my Silhouette machine.

I was going to hang this on one of our doors with some candy in it, but then I remembered I have 5 kids and thought that would be a terrible idea! So it hangs empty instead. I might sneak little treat in there now and then for the kids though.

Friendship

I made this card for my friend Karen using the Saturated Canary image called Best Friend Selfie.

Karen loves all things Disney so this is just the perfect image, and I found some cute Mickey papers to use on the card as well.

I even made a matching envelope.

The image was colored with my Spectrum Noir markers. I finished the card off with the Disney papers and some ribbon and rhinestones.

Ribbons and/or Flourishes {Crafty Gals Corner}

This week the challenge is Ribbons AND/OR Flourishes!

Our sponsor this week is:

All Dressed Up
Prize: 2 Digital Images

The Stamping Boutique
Prize: $12 Gift Certificate

I used the great AJ The Superhero  image from the Stamping Boutique on my project this week. I had a lot of fun creating this card, and playing around with a little bit of mixed media too. Love Love playing with that Gloss Gel!

I colored AJ with my Spectrum Noir Markers (palette below) and added some Stickles to a few of the windows on the buildings. I also used some pop dots to give the card more dimension.

I printed the image on Cryogen White Cardstock from the Paper Temptress so the whole thing has some shimmer to it.

I sprayed the base with a few colors of Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Mists and then used a stencil and Gloss gel to create the stars. After the gel dried I sprayed some black and silver mists on top and wiped it off the gel areas. I really love how the background came out on this one.

I added a few strips of black ribbon on the side, along with some enamel dots (homemade) and some wood veneer stars.

Here is the color palette. Feel free to pin it.

I have sent this card to Landen. You can read more about Landen in this post

New Release at Scrapper's Delights

There are some really fun new images at the Scrapper's Delights store. I just love this Wizard Penguin and was so excited to get to use him for my project this week!

I colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers and used white paint to add the spots to his wizard robe and hat. The background was made with some gel medium, a stencil and Heidi Swapp's color shine and some Lindy's Stamp Gang mists. I finished it off with some sequins and a black ribbon. You can't see it very well here, but the background is really shimmery. The Lindy's mist are awesome!

You can grab this and the other new releases in the Scrapper's Delights Store. There is also a challenge going on at the Scrapper's Delight blog, enter for your chance to win some images.
