You Are Wonderful

I am SO EXCITED to share this card today. It is by far my favorite of all the cards I have made so far! I just love love love it!

I used the adorable new image Wryn - Scooting By from Tiddly Inks. It comes 3 different ways, I chose the version with the little dog.  I colored the image with my Spectrum Noirs (colors and Pin-able palette below), and I 3D decopauged the image. I added a little glossy accents to the dog's goggles. The flowers are from Live and Love Crafts and the papers are from my stash. The pretty doily came with one of my card kits from the Kit & Clowder Retreat.

Here is the Pin-able color palette and details:

Thank You - Polkadoodles Inky Pinkies

Today I am sharing my newest card featuring one of the Serenity Blossom Fairies by Polkadoodles. This is the Serenity Fairy Cake image.

I colored her with my Spectrum Noirs (colors below). I used blue watercolor paint for the sky and added some Pebeo Dyna paints to the wings. It gives the wings a really cool shimmering effect. On the cupcakes I added a tiny bit of stickles to the frosting.

I tried a new hair color combo on her (GB7 EB2 LY1 LY2) and I was really pleased with how that turned out. I tried really hard to keep the colors really soft on this image and I think I did ok. I have trouble with that sometimes.

I finished it off with some embossed paper, a patterned paper from my stash, some lace I picked up at the retreat last weekend and a few flowers.

Kit and Clowder Retreat- Orlando

This past weekend I was so lucky to get to attend the Kit and Clowder  Retreat in Orlando, Florida. It was an amazing experience, words cannot express how wonderful it was. I met some amazing women and made some great new friends. It was so much more than just a coloring event. It was just... amazing.

In order to go to the retreat I had to overcome some fears. Number one on the list was flying. Until this I had sworn I would NEVER fly again. But this was an opportunity I just could not pass up. So as hard as it was, I got on a plane. And you know what, it wasn't that bad. I'm not afraid to fly anymore. And that opens up a whole lot of possibilities for future vacations.

My second fear was travelling somewhere new all alone and spending a whole weekend with people I didn't know. But that fear vanished as soon as I met some of the other women. Everyone was so so so nice and we all bonded instantly, it felt like we had known each other forever. I have never felt so comfortable with a group of people before.

We had a lot of fun chatting, goofing around and even managed to get a little crafting done too. We got awesome goodie bags with items from sponsors like Polkadoodles, Saturated Canary, La La Land Crafts, Live and Love Crafts, Canson, The Greeting Farm, The Paper Temptress, Whimsy Stamps and I know I am forgetting some but I will add them in later when I can remember them all!

We also had a really fun pajama party, we all dressed in our favorite or cutest pajamas and did a few more crafts, did our nails and just had a really good time.

It was a really great weekend and I think we are all ready to plan the reunion retreat already. This weekend was not just about coloring and crafting. It was about creating friendships that will last forever. I could not believe how hard it was to say Good-bye to some of these women. There were more than a few tears and lots of hugs, and then maybe some more tears. It just really amazes how so many people from all different places can share such a strong bond, and it's all because of Alyce. She created Kit and Clowder. She wanted to create a community, not just a group, but a real community where we all could be ourselves and share and laugh and cry. And she did that. I will never forget this weekend and can't wait to see these ladies again, soon I hope!

A Big Thank You to Alyce for putting this weekend together. And to all my new friends. I Miss You! and can't wait until we can get together again!

*Not all of these photos were taken by me. You can see LOTS more photos and read more about the retreat and the Kit and Clowder Community and coloring classes in the Kit and Clowder Facebook Group

Aloha Friday Birthday Challenge

Hey everyone! Today I have a quick reminder that the Birthday challenge is still going on over at Aloha Friday Challenges. This challenge is being sponsored by A Random Fan

I used the Daisy and Dexter Bunting image. I have actually had this image for quite a while but this is the first time I've colored it. I was a little scared of it to be honest. But last month I finished the Hair and Skin class over at Kit and Clowder. Now I feel much more comfortable coloring things like this.

I was really pleased with how her hair turned out. Of course she was colored with my Spectrum Noir markers. I have been on a little bit of a pink and yellow kick lately.

Be sure to visit the Aloha Friday Challenge Blog to enter for your chance to win 3 images from A Random Fan.

Howdy!

I had to send a card to my soon-to-be sister-in-law who just recently moved down to Texas. A little while ago she posted a picture on Instagram of herself in a cowboy hat. When I saw this image at Some Odd Girl I knew I wanted to use it for her card.

The image is called Cowgirl Mae.

I colored her with my Spectrum Noir Markers .The "Howdy" was cut on the Silhouette and I just used some simple background papers from my stash. I love black & white polka dots so much!

I took a little bit of hemp twine and made a little lasso out of it. Then I dyed a wood veneer star bright pink and attached that to it. I really hope she likes her card (cuz I sure do!)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Somebody Got A Yellow Belt...

Waving "Hello" from Orlando today!

Just popping in real quick to share another Inky Pinky creation for you.

Earlier this month my son got his second belt in jiu jutsu. We are so proud of him!

And of course, a new belt means a new card from Mom.

Once again I used the Polkadoodles Karate Boy digi stamp. I colored him with my Spectrum Noirs, and of course gave him a yellow belt too!

I colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers and kept the colors pretty soft to match the papers I chose. The papers are from Stamp Your Life on Etsy.  The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company and the ribbon is from Stampin' Up.

I also made a pink envelope for mailing this but forgot to get a photo of that.

Happy Father's Day

It's my day to share an Inky Pinky creation, and I have another Father's Day card for you. This time I used the digi image Fishing from the Work and Play 7 Collection.

I really had a lot of fun coloring this one and was SO happy it came out just the way I had hoped. I used some techniques I learned in the Kit and Clowder Create and Learn Classes to make the sunrise sky. Even though I used markers I applied some of the things I learned in the Pencils class.  I was also really pleased with how the dock turned out. I have to admit I just sat there looking at it for a few minutes, very proud of myself. (Yes, I am a dork, but we already know this)

I colred him with my Spectrum Noir markers (colors listed below) and then I just kept the card pretty simple when I put it all together. The image was so detailed, I didn't really feel the card needed a whole lot more, especially since it's a 'guy' card. I used some dark cardstock for the background, and added some hemp twine and a very simple sentiment.
