Leaf Rubbings With Madison
On Monday I took the girls to the park. As part of Maddy's school time I am teaching her about Fall. It's my favorite season, so why not include it! Of course, we'll learn about all the other seasons too. I know winter will be her favorite. I want to try to take her to the park every Monday (weather permitting) to observe how the leaves change and fall from the trees. We also found a nice spot to take a photo. each week we'll take a photo of the same spot and after all the leaves have fallen we'll do something with all the photos.
This week I had her collect some leaves. She really enjoyed that. When we got home we used the leaves she collected to make some leaf rubbings. I had planned on making one, but she had such a good time we ended up with 4 pages of them. She decided she was giving 2 of them to her uncles, one to Mimi and was keeping the blue one for our book (our Project Life Album).
These were so simple to make. Just have your kids collect some leaves, then gather some crayons and paper. Peel the paper off the crayons- this was actually the hardest part! Put the leaves under the paper, we did 1 leaf at a time, and rub the crayon over it with the crayon on its' side. And that's it!
